HYBRID PV+BESS 99 MWp
Following the power supply constraints experienced by the country as a result of the severe 2024 drought, the development of a hybrid solar photovoltaic project with energy storage capacity represents a strategic solution. This project would enhance the robustness and reliability of the electrical interconnection with Colombia in the northern region, ensure that regional energy demand is met with 100% renewable energy, and generate surplus capacity that could be exported to southern Colombia. The project is currently in the origination phase, with preliminary agreements in place with landowners and local communities, and is expected to reach Ready to Build (RTB) status by the end of 2027
The project will consist of a 99 MWp single-axis tracking solar photovoltaic installation, combined with an energy storage system with a nominal capacity of 90 MW and a four-hour duration
189MW
